Resolved Question: What country should I move to?

I am soon to be 21 years old and have lived in Sweden all my life. I tired got tired with the cold (six months of snow a year...) swedish winters basically my first winter, and am also quite tired of the swedish attitude. Yes, I am aware that a move will probably take years of preparations, I know that I will have to put up with more swedish winters. I am NOT so naive that I think I can get Sweden with a sub/tropical climate, definitely not. I know it will be a completely different culture. I know that my whole world view probably will be turned upside down, and how much, I can't really understand before I'm actually there. So I don't need those comments. I was thinking seriously about Spain, but the thing is that I have a dog (a Ca de Bou/Perro Dogo Mallorquín/Perro de Presa Mallorquín - one breed, many names) and because of Spain's law about "Perros potencialmente peligrosos", I don't feel really welcome there. I also have parrots, and I'm not allowed to bring them everywhere. Many countries in for example Oceania and Southeast asia are extremely restrictive when it comes to birds, Australia and New Zealand for example have banned ALL importation of birds. And in Central america, Costa Rica goes since no birds are allowed to be taken *out of* the country, which makes it hard if I want to leave. Other than that... * Warm country. No snow, in other words (but truly equator-hot is probably too warm even for me). I have looked up climate and temperaure in many places and about Hawai'i-Canary Islands is my type of climate. * I have to be able to bring my dog (laws against "Pitbulls" is okay since he's purebred and of a completely different breed, but Spain for example has laws that restrict all "tougher looking" dogs). * I have to be able to bring my parrots, and preferably take them out of the country too. * I speak English fluently (obviously), and am learning Spanish, but I'd rather not have to learn another language now. (But with those two, there is still a lot to choose from.) * Preferably not "completely impossible" to get a job, even though I understand it's much harder for immigrants. * Preferably a more or less stable country, so not a lot of conflicts/high crime level, and preferably high freedom and easy internet access. * And of course more or less simple immigration regulations are a huge plus, if not a necessity. I have gone through a lot of links and sites both in Swedish and English, about moving to this and that country, moving to Latin america, moving to the Caribbean (also different specific islands), moving to warmer countries etc. for quite some time now and I'm not getting any wiser at all. There's not a lot of "concrete" or practical information, so, I am asking you now. Any suggestions?... Read More »
